• Uses a trunk or backbone to which all of the computers on the network connect .
• System connect to this backbone using T connectors or taps.
• Coaxial cabling (10base-2 ,10base5)were popular options years ago.

Advantages

1. Cheap and easy to implement
2. Require less cable
3. Does not use any specialized network equipment 

Disadvantages

1. Network disruption when computer are added or removed
2. A break in the cable will prevent all system from accessing the network
3. Difficult to troubleshoot
